Hariss Harun Salary at Lion City Sailors 2024: Hariss bin Harun is a Singaporean professional footballer who captains the Singapore national team and plays as a defender for Lion City Sailors in the Singapore Premier League.

He made his international debut at the age of 16 and 217 days, making him Singapore’s youngest debutant.

Hariss is recognized for being a versatile player that is capable of both combat and playmaking. Hariss is mostly a center midfielder, but he has also played as a centre-back, right-back, and offensive midfielder.

Hariss Harun Personal life

Harun bin Habib Mohamed, a logistics officer, and Nisha binte Mohamed Yusoff, a housewife, were born in Singapore to Malayali Muslim parents. [39] His father serves as his football coach. Since the age of six, he credits his father and uncle for igniting his love in football. [40]

Hariss married his lover Syahirah Mohamad at a function venue beside LionsXII’s home stadium, Jalan Besar Stadium, on March 9, 2014.

They’d been dating for more than two years when they got engaged in February 2013.

Hariss appears with his Singapore teammate Baihakki Khaizan in eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020. After Safuwan Baharudin, he will be the second Singaporean to appear in a video game.

Young Lions

Hariss began his career in the S.League with Young Lions in 2007. In 2007, at the age of 16 years, 3 months, and 18 days, he became the youngest player in the S-League. Hariss had received special permission from the Singapore Football Association to play despite a regulation that only permitted players aged 18 and up to do so.

He won Singapore’s ‘Who’s The Next’ contest in August 2007 and was offered a training position at FC Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia facility. For a week, he and 13 other youngsters from six Asia Pacific nations, including South Korea and Japan, trained at the Catalans’ junior program. In three friendly games against FC Barcelona’s youth program, he led the team.

LionsXII

Hariss was called up to join LionsXII for the 2012 Malaysia Super League in December 2011. In January 2012, he made his LionsXII debut in a league match against Kelantan. On January 21, he scored his first goal in the 19th minute against Sabah. Hariss’ goal-scoring run continued against Sabah on June 16, when the stand-in skipper scored his first career hat-trick in a 9–0 victory.

Three minutes after Agu Casmir’s 19th-minute opening, he scored with a volley and added a second in the 41st minute. On 73 minutes, he accomplished his hat-trick with a Shaiful Esah assist.

Johor Darul Ta’zim

Following Hariss’ choice not to join Rio Ave, Johor Darul Ta’zim of the Malaysia Super League promptly confirmed his signing in November 2013 on a two-year deal for over US$20,000 (S$25,000) per month. Hariss scored his first competitive goal for the club four days later against Selangor in a Super League encounter. Hariss helped Johor win their first Malaysian Super League title in his debut season.

He helped Johor Darul Ta’zim win the 2015 Malaysia Super League and their first 2015 AFC Cup Final against FC Istiklol in Tajikistan on October 31, 2015. Hariss signed a new two-year contract with the club on November 9, 2015, with a monthly salary of US$30,000 (S$43,000), making him the highest-paid Singaporean footballer ever.

Lion City Sailors

Hariss signed for Lion City Sailors on a three-and-a-half-year contract on 10 May 2021.

International career

Youth

Hariss has been capped at all youth levels with the Singapore national football team. He was part of the Singapore national under-23 football team that won the bronze medal at the 2007, 2009 and 2013 Southeast Asian Games.

Senior

Hariss was discovered by then-national team coach Raddy Avramovic, who handed him his international debut as a 70th-minute replacement in a friendly against North Korea on June 24, 2007.

At the age of 16 years and 217 days, he is the youngest player to play for the Singapore national team, beating the previous record set by Singapore great Fandi Ahmad, who debuted at the age of 17 years, 3 months, and 23 days. In a 2012 interview with the Straits Times, Avramovic described Hariss as a “outstanding player.”

Hariss was named for the 2012 ASEAN Football Championship by Singapore. After sustaining a shin fracture in a group stage loss to Indonesia, he was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament, which Singapore won. Due to injuries, he was unable to compete in the 2008 and 2010 rounds of the tournament.

On June 7, 2013, Hariss scored his first senior international goal in the 27th minute of a friendly against Laos.
