John Maduka Biography
John Maduka began his football career when he was sixteen years old. While playing for his school, Lilongwe Boys Primary School, he was seen by Davie Saccur, who is also the coach and owner of the Davie Cosmos soccer team.
He was seen by the Silver Strikers and the Mighty Limbe Leaf Wanderers while playing for Davie Cosmos and Lilongwe Boys Primary School in 1992, while he was still a teenager. John chose Silver Strikers above other options because he did not want to leave his hometown of Lilongwe.
He was a midfielder with Bloemfontein Celtic in South Africa, where he last appeared.
Maduka made his international debut for Malawi in a 0–4 defeat to Zimbabwe in 1991. Since then, he has made over 90 appearances with the Flames. Until retiring in 2009, he played for the South African team Bloemfontein Celtic, where he spent five years and made 118 appearances before leaving the club in 2009.
He worked as an assistant coach at the club while Steve Komphela was the head coach, then he was promoted to the position of head coach of Bloemfontein Celtic in July 2020.
