Mamelodi Sundowns

Tau began his professional career with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League, he was born in eMalahleni. On February 25, 2014, he made his professional debut for the club against Orlando Pirates in the league. As Sundowns lost 1–0, he came on as an 85th-minute substitute for Domingues. Tau then scored his first professional goal for the club against Golden Arrows in a Nedbank Cup encounter on March 22, 2014. His 90th-minute goal was Sundowns’ fourth and final goal in a 4–1 victory over the Arrows. He made his debut for the club in a 3–1 win over African Warriors on February 6, 2016, and scored three goals in 11 matches during his loan tenure.
