The 11 Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2024

The 11 Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold: Amiibos are collectible figurines that may be used in a variety of video games published by Nintendo.

The action figurines made their debut in November 2014 to a great deal of hoopla and quickly became a popular new collectible item.

Aside from the fact that they can be used in games, Amiibos are collectible figures of decently high quality that are ideal for exhibiting.

Just like with any other type of collector item, certain Amiibos are more difficult to come by and fetch higher prices than others, particularly in Western regions.

The limited availability of these Amiibos can be attributed to a variety of factors, including specific manufacturing capabilities, retail outlet exclusivity, and even national boundaries.

It would appear that Japan, the country that is home to Nintendo, does not face the same challenges with availability as the rest of the world.

While the majority of the Amiibos on this list are just uncommon in regions other than Japan, a couple of them are so hard to come by that their value is almost incalculable.

The initial retail price of Amiibo figures ranges from $12.99 up to roughly $39.99 for particularly unique editions. This can give you an idea of how valuable these rare Amiibos are.

As of September 2019, the values on this list have been updated to reflect the most recent information and will continue to be revised as necessary.

The 11 Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2024

1. Toon Link and Zelda

  • Current Value: $125 on Amazon
  • Year Released/Wave: December 2, 2016
  • Reason for Rarity: Sold out in stores in North America; much higher than retail price on Amazon or eBay
  • Key Compatible Games: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS

It appears that individual Toon Link and Zelda Amiibos can be purchased for a price that is acceptable; however, due to the limited availability of the unique Toon Link and Zelda 2-pack, it has become exceedingly difficult to acquire and hence highly expensive.

Amazon is now selling the Toon Link and Zelda set for approximately $125, but eBay is selling it for a price somewhat lower than that.

Aside from the fact that the figurines can be shown together, the two-pack does not feature anything particularly unique.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

The Toon Link and Zelda Amiibos were launched in celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, the game that started it all. However, the figures themselves were from the game The Wind Waker.

2. Golden Mega Man Amiibo

  • Year Released/Wave: February 23, 2016
  • Reason for Rarity: Sold out in stores in North America; much higher than retail price on Amazon or eBay
  • Key Compatible Games: Mega Man Legacy Collection

There aren’t too many limited-edition Amiibo figures, but the golden Mega Man that was included with the Mega Man Legacy Collection video game back in 2016 is one of the few Amiibos that was designed to be really one-of-a-kind.

At its launch, the golden Mega Man and Legacy Collection bundle could be purchased for the price of $49.99, and it was quickly purchased by avid Amiibo and Nintendo collectors.

These days, the Golden Mega Man can only be purchased on eBay or Amazon for a price that is over three times higher than the item’s initial suggested retail price.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

It used to be the case that the normal Mega Man Amiibo was hard to find in North America due to the infrequency with which it was refilled; however, in recent years, it has grown far more widespread.

3. Squid Sisters Callie and Marie

  • Current Value: $145 on Amazon
  • Year Released/Wave: July 8, 2016 – Wave 2
  • Reason for Rarity: Sold out in stores in North America; much higher than retail price for
  • Japanese versions online
  • Key Compatible Games: Splatoon

Many Amiibo figures have grown less readily available in North America over the course of the years, and they have nearly all sold out at every major retail outlet as well as on their respective websites.

These days, the Squid Sisters Callie and Marie from Splatoon can only be purchased on the secondary market or from Japan for a price that is nearly six times higher than the initial price of $24.99; as a result, they are among the rarest and most valuable Amiibos that are currently accessible.

Even as separate figures, Callie and Marie Amiibos are difficult to come by. On Amazon, the going rate for Callie is approximately $87, while the going rate for Marie is approximately $72.

4. Navirou

Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2023
  • Current Value: $158 on Amazon
  • Year Released/Wave: October 8, 2016
  • Reason for Rarity: Japan exclusive; never released to the rest of the world
  • Key Compatible Games: Monster Hunter Stories

Out of all of the Monster Hunter Stories Amiibos that are specific to Japan, Navirou is the one that is considered to be the most precious and difficult to acquire.

It appears that Navirou is sold out on official websites in Japan, and the price of the Amiibo is currently well over $100 on the secondary market.

On Amazon, the price of the Amiibo is $158, though. The fact that the Navirou Amiibo is so popular is largely due to the fact that he is a charming little cat.

In Monster Hunter Stories, using the Navirou Amiibo will call forth a unique Navtonoth mount that is based on the Aptonoth.

5. Mega Yarn Yoshi

  • Current Value: $180 to $225 on various websites
  • Year Released/Wave: November 2015; Wave 2 of Yoshi’s Woolly World Series
  • Reason for Rarity: Was a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive
  • Key Compatible Games: Yoshi’s Woolly World

The Mega Yarn Yoshi Amiibo is simply a plush toy with ordinary Amiibo capabilities incorporated into the toy’s foot.

These characteristics allow the toy to interact with the Nintendo Switch system. Back in 2015, Toys ‘R’ Us was the only retailer that carried the Mega Yarn Yoshi, making it a store exclusive like a few other Amiibos.

The cuteness of the big plush and the fact that it was only available at one store contributed to its rarity and worth, which ranges from $180 to $225 at the moment. Initially, one could get a Mega Yarn Yoshi for the low price of $39.99.

The Mega Yarn Yoshi stands at a height that is 2.5 times that of the standard Yarn Yoshi Amiibo.

6. Qbby

  • Current Value: $244 to $330 on Amazon
  • Year Released/Wave: February 2, 2017
  • Reason for Rarity: Japan exclusive, never released to the rest of the world
  • Key Compatible Games: BoxBoy; BoxBoxBoy; and Bye-Bye Box Boy!

The Qbby Amiibo, which can be used in games from the BoxBoy series and is exclusive to Japan due to its rarity elsewhere, presents a particularly interesting scenario.

This Amiibo isn’t necessarily anything unique, but it has a significant markup on the secondary market because it was never produced anywhere else save in Japan.

On Amazon and eBay, the price of a Qbby can now be found between $244 and $330.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

One more factor contributing to the high cost of the Qbby Amiibo is the fact that the Stuffed Box edition includes all three of the games that are included in the BoxBoy series.

7. Golden Mega Man 11

Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2023
  • Current Value: N/A; not available for sale, was a special prize
  • Year Released/Wave: October 2018
  • Reason for Rarity: Only 10 in existence
  • Key Compatible Games: Mega Man 11

The golden Mega Man 11 figure, in contrast to the Amiibos on this list with the highest level of rarity, does not necessarily have any monetary worth but is unusual due to its exclusivity.

Capcom launched a special raffle event for Japanese fans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Mega Man franchise as well as the debut of a new game and Amiibo.

One of the grand prizes was a golden Mega Man 11 Amiibo, which was awarded to the winner of the contest. There were a total of ten figures up for grabs, but none of them have been discovered on the secondary market as of yet.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

Although the golden Mega Man 11 Amiibo looks amazing, using it in the Mega Man 11 game will not grant you any special abilities or advantages of its own.

8. Monster Hunter Stories Gold and Silver Riders

  • Current Value: N/A; not available for sale, was a special prize
  • Year Released/Wave: Summer 2017
  • Reason for Rarity: Only one gold and one silver figure in existence
  • Key Compatible Games: Monster Hunter Stories

Monster Hunter by Capcom is consistently voted as one of the most popular video games in Japan, and the developer and publisher hold an official competition there every year.

Monster Hunter Stories on the Nintendo 3DS, which is one of the most recent entries in the series, was included in the Monster Hunter Championship in 2017.

The tournament’s top two winners each received a unique prize: a Monster Hunter Stories Rider Amiibo.

The first-place winner received a golden Monster Hunter Stories Rider Amiibo, and the runner-up received a silver Monster Hunter Stories Rider Amiibo.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

It appears that the gold and silver Monster Hunter Stories riders have a great deal more attention to detail than a standard Amiibo figure due to the fact that they were custom produced for the competition.

9. No Left Hand Luigi

Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2023
Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2023
  • Current Value: $500 at auction
  • Year Released/Wave: December 14, 2014 – Wave 1
  • Reason for Rarity: Manufacturing defect resulting in missing left hand
  • Key Compatible Games: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS; Mario Party 10; and Super Mario Maker

This Amiibo of Luigi is the last of the defective figures, and because it is missing its left hand, it is worth a large premium over its original price.

The Luigi without a left hand fetched $500, despite the fact that it was nowhere near as valuable as the Princess Peach without legs or the Samus Aran with two cannons.

Luigi, like the majority of the earlier Amiibo figures, was formerly relatively common, but it is now significantly more difficult to locate him at his original price.

On Amazon, the Super Smash Bros. Luigi game can be purchased for the price of $34.40 right now.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

In 2015, Nintendo introduced a second Luigi Amiibo for the Super Mario Bros. Series. The price of this Luigi is $69.95 on Amazon, which is twice as much as the price of a standard Luigi.

10. Duel Cannon Samus Aran

Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2023
  • Current Value: $2,500 at auction
  • Year Released/Wave: November 21, 2014 – Wave 1
  • Reason for Rarity: Manufacturing defect resulting in additional cannon on left arm
  • Key Compatible Games: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3D

Samus Aran, a character from the Metroid series, was included in the first wave of Amiibo figures that Nintendo published in 2014.

Despite the fact that the figure was initially readily available, locating one has become increasingly difficult over the years.

It should not come as a surprise that a Samus Aran amiibo with an additional arm cannon sold for a significant amount of money given that this particular figure is known to be one of the rarer Amiibo.

The buyer purchased the Samus Aran Amiibo from Best Buy for the store’s standard price, but the seller asked $2,500 for it!

Did It Cross Your Mind?

The Samus Aran Amiibo is the figure that has the highest number of faulty components; the flaw that occurs most frequently is that the figure tilts to one side.

11. Legless Princess Peach

Rarest Amiibos Ever Sold 2023
  • Current Value: $25,100 at auction
  • Year Released/Wave: November 21, 2014 – Wave 1
  • Reason for Rarity: Manufacturing defect resulting in missing legs
  • Key Compatible Games: Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS; and Mario Party 10

Although manufacturing flaws aren’t always desirable, a Princess Peach Amiibo that was missing one of her legs managed to fetch a staggering $25,100 just a few short weeks after the initial wave of Amiibos was made available for purchase.

Although it is unknown with absolute certainty how many legless Princess Peach statues were produced, a small number of additional ones have been listed for sale on eBay.

The Princess without Legs amiibo is the rarest Amiibo in the world since there are so few of them in circulation and because they are so expensive.

Did It Cross Your Mind?

Someone also received a figurine of Princess Peach that had her legs turned around and another that made it look like she was “breakdancing.” These Amiibos were in addition to the ones that had no legs.
